I just finished my senior showcase! It’s now on display in the Southern Utah Museum of Art in Cedar City, UT.

This body of work was motivated by a deep passion for the preservation and protection of the earth that we inhabit. Textile waste is one of the most impactful issues in our climate crisis today, with fast fashion decreasing the number of times a garment is worn and increasing the amount of textiles going into landfills. If we don’t drastically reframe our view of clothing consumption, the consequences will be dire. However, all is not lost. Hope is what drives this work; the hope that this change is possible- it starts with an awareness of what we are doing as individuals caught in this system of needless waste for pointless profit. It starts with loving your high quality clothing enough to keep it for years; it starts with stain removal as an act of rebellion; it starts with a single, revolutionary stitch.
